Every business recognises the value of a well-designed space which creates a great working environment. We are honoured to see Clockwise be considered a contender in the “Best Refurbished/ Recycled Workplace” category of this year’s British Council of Offices (BCO) Scotland Awards.
The BCO is an important body promoting best practice within the office sector. Its award scheme provides public recognition for workplaces that demonstrate innovation, leading design and functionality.
Our thanks go out to c2:concepts, our design firm, who nominated Clockwise for the prestigious award. Together, we’ve brought a new lease of life to what has always been a landmark building in Glasgow, as it is now transformed into a dynamic space for the city’s fledgeling SMEs and entrepreneurs.
“The overall feel in the building is of the design language for Clockwise, as created by c2:concepts,” explains Mark Alcorn, Managing Director at c2:concepts. “Existing ceilings, partitions and services were removed to increase height and bring the exposed concrete ceilings and columns in their rough shuttered state into view, delivering a post-industrial aesthetic.”
“The ground floor reception says Clockwise brand, with the matte black laminate features and inset lighting, surrounded by exposed concrete. Natural daylight is maximised in the tower floors from East and West facing windows and the lighting concept is a mixture of suspended uplights and downlighters. The second floor holds the Clockwise team hub and a café and co-working space. This area buzzes with life, and connects to the external terrace, with seating, movable planting and canopies.”
