Street art in Clockwise at Savoy Tower

Clockwise have teamed up with mclcreate to bring inspired, contemporary art into the newly revived Savoy Tower. The collaborative nature of our workspaces will be enhanced by the works created by five Scotland-based street artists, bringing a stunning and imaginative aesthetic backdrop to Clockwise at Savoy Tower.

Murals will line various walls within the building, connecting each of the different workspaces and levels. Drawing on its relationships with local artists, mclcreate will curate and manage this process through collaboration with some of Scotland’s leading street artists and illustrators. The first mural, a “Let Glasgow Flourish” painting that adorns the wall above the lockers in the shared workspace, has been completed by Glasgow-based sign painter and street artist, Ciaran Globel.

Ross Blair of mclcreate said, “Each of the street artists will bring their own unique style to the Clockwise project. The murals will connect with each other, as well as with Glasgow as a city, to create a stunning art installation within the Savoy Tower. At mclcreate, we believe in the power of conversation, and these exciting murals will not only add colour and vibrancy, but they are also a powerful, accessible and effective means of storytelling.”

Contrasting the heritage and brutalist architecture that is associated with Savoy Tower, the Clockwise workspaces draw on a modern, open plan approach for the interior. In addition to the workspaces, a lounge area, meeting rooms, a café, informal breakout areas, an outdoor terrace and private phone booths encourage productivity and creativity and support a variety of working styles.

Following the completion of the first mural, renowned illustrator and street artist Conzo Throb will commence work on the next exciting mural in the Clockwise workspace.
